Kaila Yu was born in Taiwan, and moved to California when she was three. She kept busy during her childhood years doing a variety of activities including, tap dancing, ballet classes, piano lessons, cello lessons, and lots of other things. After High School Kaila attended UCSD with the intentions of becoming a plastic surgeon. While at UCSD Kaila realized if she ever wanted to realize her dream of being in the entertainment industry, she would have to live in LA. So transfer to UCLA is what she did. She found it hard to break into the business and decided to do things herself. She bought a few books, learned HTML, then built kailayu.com by herself. Shortly after that Kaila was noticed by the Import industry, and Playboy magazine. Realizing her dream of modeling has been an important part of Kaila's life, she now is pursuing a music career.
